The Building Department's duties are to enforce the local and state codes regarding the construction and maintenance of the buildings and structures in the Town. Such duties will be performed an impartial manner in order to provide for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Town of Bay Harbor Islands. Further, the Department strives to continually educate staff, the construction industry and our residents on current codes and procedures to better preserve the quality of life for our community.
A Building Permit is required for most types of construction work within the Town of Bay Harbor Islands. Please contact the Building Department for more information to determine which types of projects do or do not require a Building Permit.

Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Permissible Construction Hours
Construction hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (excluding holidays).
No contractor work is permitted in the Town on Town recognized Holidays, Saturdays or Sundays, as per Town Code.
