Each year, the Town of Bay Harbor Islands publishes its Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), also known as the Water Quality Report. This annual report provides residents and business owners with important information about the source and quality of our drinking water. Our top priority is to provide you and your family with a safe, reliable, and dependable supply of drinking water.
The Town of Bay Harbor Islands purchases its drinking water from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) as a wholesale customer and distributes it to residents and visitors through the Town's water system. WASD manages the water chemistry and performs testing for biological, organic, and inorganic contaminants.
- Ongoing Monitoring: Biological examinations and chemistry testing are performed continuously.
- Annual Testing: Organic and inorganic testing is conducted yearly, with results provided to the Town for review.
- Compliance: All results confirm that the water supplied by WASD meets or exceeds federal and state drinking water standards.
To maintain the highest standards, the Town employs licensed water treatment operators, distribution system operators, and engineers. Working together, this team has developed a proactive water quality sampling and monitoring program, along with best management practices that surpass state and federal requirements.
